RC8T RTR 1/8 Truggy

Posted by Jonathan Lane on November 21st, 2008

The RC8T-RS is a winner right out of the box and is 100% pure Associated, having been designed with the many years of race-winning experience and 23 IFMAR World Championships that only Team Associated can claim.

The RC8T-RS comes fully assembled and set up, ready to hit the ground running. Team Associated’s Pro.28 engine and XP3D Computerized Digital FM Radio system are factory installed. The differentials and shocks come filled with silicone fluids, making it faster and easier than ever to get Team Associated performance out of the box and into
the dirt!

The RC8T-RS’s suspension features four composite 16mm ‘Big Bore’ shocks featuring extra large bladders and 4mm shock shafts for smooth action and durability. The shocks hang on 3mm low profile black aluminum shock towers for strength and reduced weight.

The RC8T-RS has a full-ball bearing drivetrain with 4.30:1 ratio gear boxes, and a high-torque capacity three-shoe clutch does the job of getting all the power to the drive train smoothly and efficiently. Getting the all the power to the ground is a set of six CVAs all featuring captured pins for bullet-proof reliability.

The backbone of the RC8T-RS is a strong and durable 3mm black hard-anodized 7075 aluminum chassis that has been designed to take all of the punishment and abuse that a competitive 1:8 scale truggy will have to face in stride.

RC8T-RS features:

  • XP3D Computerized Digital 3-Channel FM Radio System with 10-model memory
  • Powerful Pro.28 engine
  • Pro-Start hand-held starting system
  • Painted and pre-mounted body with custom decals
  • S2008 metal gear steering servo
  • Composite ‘Big Bore’ 16mm shock bodies and caps. 4mm shock shafts with protective rubber boots
  • Hard-anodized 3mm thick 7075 aluminum chassis
  • Team Associated 2-chamber muffler
  • Pre-mounted Team Associated tires, foam inserts on low-profile (LPR) dish wheels
  • 3mm low-profile black anodized aluminum shock towers
  • 3mm black anodized aluminum steering rack with ball bearing steering system
  • Sealed radio box with thread-through molded
  • antenna mount

RC Pro Australia

Posted by Jonathan Lane on November 21st, 2008

We announced we would be using RC Signup for the RC Pro australia event and suggested racers start making their racer pages in order to get ready for signup to open. Bobby at RC Sign up has been making the changes necessary to accept signup from all countries. He now has all the states/territories for Australia in the system. Of course he doesn’t have them in for every country yet so if you are trying to sign up for RC Sign Up please note under the State/Territory drop down there is a blank box where you can fill in your state or territory if they are not listed in the drop down.
RC Sign Up is advancing rapidly toward being the #1 online signup site in the World. They listen and make changes rapidly in the program to fit the needs of the racers and tracks.
I want to thank Bobby for responding to all of my requests for additions to fit what RC Pro has needed over tha last year.

Victory @ South Australian Titles for Massive Mods

Posted by Jonathan Lane on November 20th, 2008

Another Awesome Victory in South Australia

This has been the second time I’ve attended the South Australian Titles and it was awesome ! Racing results are absolutely fantastic with a 1st 2nd 3rd and TQ in the A Main Monster Truck 30 min Final.

Hats off to RC Hobby Zone/ MassiveMods team drivers Myles Cooper 1st and TQ Go 5 port and A Main fuel, Tony Wright 2nd place HB444 Fuel and 3rd to Daniel Buchanan A Main Fuel. Monster Truck racing , especially in long main events is sometimes a race of attrition , monster trucks are heavy , sometimes up to 8 Kg’s in weight , that’s double that of a buggy or truggy . in order to run hard and strong to lead for 30 mins the engine and car strains are enormous ! And the driving skill for MT drivers is awesome! Monster Trucks are the hardest vehicle to negotiate around a track , so hats off to the boys for an amazing result ! At the end of the day the driver won the race but their choice of products did not let them down ! We would also like to thank the rest of the team drivers pictured below for making the event special and fun. Some unfortunate mishaps with batteries and servos hampered podium finishes in Buggy and Truggy but that’s racing ! Pictured below are the SA Race team with special mention to the latest member to the team Tom Mills at 14 years old managed a 6th place in the A Main MT !

Pictured Below are the SA Racing team.
