Smaller restrictors (like 5.0, 5.5, 6.0) help increase fuel mileage, which translates into longer run times between pit stops. Reducing the number of pit stops over the course of a main event could mean the difference between winning and finishing off the podium! They are also an effective way to reduce power output and improve drivability on low-grip or blown-out track surfaces.
Each restrictor is sold individually and features laser etching of the restrictor’s size for easy identification. Reedy…

Event: Georgia State Series
Location: Loganville, GA
Date: June
Classes: 1/8th Nitro
Race Reporter: Bobby Petitt
Barry Petitt and the Double Dees take the win in the Georgia State Series.
The 6th round of the Georgia State series went off this past weekend in Loganville, Ga. There were around 115 racers in attendance and this series always has some great competition. Barry’s tire of choice was the JConcepts Double Dees on the buggy and the truggy, and they were extremely hooked up! The TQ in Buggy was close, with the first 3 in the A-main each TQ’ing one round.
After putting down the fastest and only 12 lap run of the event on worn Double Dees Barry had to settle for 3rd on the grid after tie-breakers. Starting 3rd on the grid didn’t affect the focus however a broken tie-rod during the beginning of the race completely changed our potential. After repairing the tie-rod we finished the 30 minute main. Double Dees held up well and we felt we would have been a player for the win if the mechanical trouble had not happened.
In Truck we started 2nd, again on a set of blue Double Dee’s with the stock foam. Barry took the lead before the first fuel stop and never looked back, finishing 2 laps ahead of second with an average lap time of over 1 second per lap faster than the competition. We looked at the tires after the 30 minute main, expecting them to be worn beyond use. As you can see from the attached photo, the tires were barely worn! We were amazed! We will be using that set again!
Thanks again for all your support and great product! JConcepts…

“My favorite tire has always been the Hole Shot. After running the Calibers, though, I have a new favorite tire. I can’t wait to start running these at a club level,”
~Team driver Ronda Skelton.
“After watching Josh Wheelers cars at the NATS warmup race, M2 and XTR Calibers on buggy and [Caliber VTR on] truck were AMAZING! That is about all I am planning on running at nats. Can’t wait…” ~Chad Brosseau
“The Caliber looks awesome and it’s going to be in my arsenal for many races to come,”
~Ricky Gaynor,
Winner of 2009 Nitro Challenge 1:8 Buggy Open class
At the Euro’s Warm-up
“I think the rounded profile helped when the tire started to wear flatter. The block style spike worked very well when the pins had worn down. When you’re looking to expand your tire selection with a long-lasting, high-performance tire, then check out the new Caliber.”
